How is this art specifically seen in the community?

It’s very likely than an individual and their family will walk by these life-size duck sculptures located at The Avenue. The sculptures consist of a mother duck followed by several ducklings on the sidewalk. The life-like size, realistic positioning and exuberant expressions catch the attention of people everyday.

How do you think the art has made meaning in the community?

Community art brings people of all different backgrounds together. First, the duckling sculptures help improve the economy at The Avenue by increasing overall foot traffic in the location. Second, the sculptures help engage children and other emerging artists in learning new things. The different styles of art, colors, materials, locations, etc. help broaden the acceptance of learning. Additionally, displaying these sculptures and promoting community art  strikes the creativity of other people in a community. The emotions felt while noticing the art usually bring people back again and may trigger a sense of creativity some people didn’t know they had.  Finally, this piece of sculptural art increases the livelihood of the community, helping uplift the production of people in this area.
