This art is displayed at Suspended Brewery located at 912 Washington Blvd, Baltimore, MD 21230 in the neighborhood that is known as Pigtown. People can see it on Friday from 4:00–9:00pm, & Saturday from 1:00–8:00pm.
How do you think the art has made meaning in the community?
Community art provides people with a very important way in which they can express themselves. Sometimes it is hard for them to express themselves with mere words, but art allows them to present an idea in a visual way that other people can understand and appreciate. Baltimore city has a long history of gun violence which frustrates a lot of our residents. One of the paintings displayed at Suspended Brewery features an expression and plea from the artist to stop the killing. This is an example of how art can speak to the community.
